Applied research in growth areas of smart specialisation NUTIKAS

Contribute to the knowledge-intensive growth of the Estonian economy by supporting cooperation between research institutions and businesses. Increase the capacity of research institutions to carry out applied research for business in the growth areas of smart specialisation. The applicant is the company in whose interest the research is carried out.

Support for research and development on resource valorisation – ResTA

Support business-driven research and development in the areas of timber, food and oil and gas processing, in order to boost the capacity of research teams in these areas, the development of specialists in the field and development cooperation between businesses and research institutions. The research will be carried out on behalf of enterprises, but the applicants and the research will be carried out by research institutions.

Compensates the preparation of Horizon 2020 and COST project proposals. The project proposal has exceeded the evaluation threshold but does not need to be successful.

Biomethane production and consumption in the transport sector

Kick-starting the consumption and supply of biomethane to support the achievement of the Renewable Energy Transport Target by creating demand for renewable fuels and thereby triggering biomethane production.

   

Efficient heat production and transmission

Reduction of final energy consumption through more efficient heat production and transmission: 1) renovation of district heating boilers and fuel substitution; 2) renovation of obsolete and inefficient heat distribution piping; 3) preparation of a heat economy development plan; 4) construction of local heating solutions to replace district heating solutions.

Co-funding of environment and climate projects

1) Contribute to achieving a resource-efficient, low-carbon and climate resilient economy; 2) Contribute to protecting and improving the quality of the environment; 3) Contribute to halting and reversing biodiversity loss, including by supporting the Natura 2000 network and combating ecosystem degradation; (4) to enhance the development and implementation of Union environment and climate policy and legislation; (5) to support better governance of environment and climate at all levels, as well as greater involvement of civil society, NGOs and local actors.

   

Environmental loan (for the development of water management infrastructure)

to guarantee the co-financing or payment of VAT for water infrastructure development projects financed by the Cohesion Fund of the European Union (CF).
