Procedure for the election of the Council of the Estonian Employers’ Confederation

A council is a body of up to 30 natural persons, which performs the functions of a general meeting.

The members of the Council shall be elected by and from among the members of the Union for a term of three years. Each member may nominate one candidate for election.

The election of the council is held in two rounds. In the first round, up to fifteen members shall be elected from among the representatives of the employers’ associations, and in the second round up to fifteen members shall be elected from among the representatives of the employers and the members referred to in point 3.2. of the Statutes. If fewer than fifteen members are elected in the first round, the number of members elected in the second round shall be increased, if there are candidates, by the number of members elected for each member elected in the first round. A person elected as a member of the Council in the first round may not stand as a candidate in the second round. The General Meeting shall decide on the exact procedure and conditions for the elections.
